Philippines SchoolPhilippine English

Is the variety of English used in the Philippines by the media and the vast majority of educated Filipinos. English is taught in schools as one of the two official languages of the country, the other being Filipino, a standardized version of Tagalog, which is the official and most widely spoken of the many Philippine languages and dialects, there are 13 indigenous languages with at least one million native speakers: Tagalog, Cebuano, Ilokano, Hiligaynon, Waray-Waray, Kapampangan, Bikol, Albay Bikol, Pangasinan, Maranao, Maguindanao, Kinaray-a, and Tausug. One or more of these is spoken natively by more than 90% of the population.

Below is my wife and i ( well my wife as I’m still learning hehe ) have put together a list of Filipino words and phrases for travelers.
Getting to know some Tagalog or Filipino words is very helpful mostly especially to foreign travellers and tourists. Having these handy will help you communicate better with Filipinos. Filipinos would also be very grateful if you can speak the Tagalog or Filipino Language. The information below can also be considered as survival phrases and words or words that you want to say when talking to a Filipino.
