Opening of Laguindingan International Airport

Laguindingan International Airport

Officially opened!!

Mabuhay! Good news to all Filipinos overseas and to all tourist, experience a hassle free and more convenient travel to the Philippines with this nearly opened Laguindingan International Airport. By early 2008, the start of grading of the airport site area, so after five years at last its finished and gladly it will be accessible to the public in near time. February 26, 2013 PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino visited and came to inspect Laguindingan International Airport, for a string of engagements in the city and in Misamis Oriental as well. Laguindingan airportFinally the most awaited part is that it was being announced and vowed by PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino  to open the Laguindingan International Airport on April 30, 2013.The approved cost of the airport project is US$ 167.09 Million or PhP 7.853 Billion. With the opening of the Laguindingan airport, Aquino said the Lumbia Airport will be turned over to the Philippine Air Force. This is a good thing for those people who lived in neighbouring towns because the airport is just a minute away rather than going to go to lumbia airport which mainly I would say that it really needs a big improvement.

The airport sits on a 4.17 square kilometre site in Barangay Moog, Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental. Laguindingan Airport is just 45 minutes drive from Cagayan de Oro City  proper so its no hassle if you wanna roam at the city for shopping before going home to families, there is a easy access of tranportations too. It adds gives advantage to travellers and tourist to manage their time better. Since this town is a bit farther from city center , that’s a good thing because we might expect a less traffic plus the government made the roads wide enough to accommodate transports at the airport. This is not only gives benefit to travellers but also a plus points to boost Philippines economy and so providing jobs to Filipinos which is a good thing. I am hoping and looking forward to step on this airport probably this year when we are going to have holidays in the Philippines, as well this gives an opportunity to attract more tourist in Mindanao, and to promote the tourism in Philippines with access.

So who’s looking forward to arrive at this newly International Airport? Proudly Philippines!
