Boracay Island named Asia’s best island

March 19, 2013 by BFiskilis Leave a Comment

Located approximately 315 km (196 mi) south of Manila and 2 km off the northwest tip of Panay Island in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines

Borocay’s Rapid Growth

Well it’s good to see that Boracay Island was also named as Asia’s best Island, topping Bali and Phuket, it’s survey from Travel + Leisure and the majority of the foreign tourists favoured Boracay Island with a rapid growth of 41% rise over the previous year excellent news, and poised to keep growing. Located approximately 315 km (196 mi) south of Manila and 2 km off the northwest tip of Panay Island in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. Boracay Island and its beaches have received awards from numerous travel publications and agencies.

When is the best time?

During summer season (November-April) Boracay White Beach is calm and very suitable for swimming, etc. The other side of the island has large winds and waves making it suitable for kite surfing & windsurfing. During the rainy season (Jun-Oct), this is reversed, with a risk of typhoons. White Beach often gets large winds and waves which sometimes makes it unsuitable for swimming. So plan ahead so you will not be caught by typhoon, since Philippines has plenty of typhoons in a year.

Boracay Island is set for some major expansions and one of them covering over 140 hectares an estimated 14% of the Islands total area with a private 1 kilometre white sand beachfront , with an extra 1500 hotel suites to accommodate  the rapid growth expansion,

Within the Island there is also for plans for permanent homes for Guests that fall in love with the Boracay experience and want to live here.

It’s good to see that the Philippines with all it’s majestic places and Islands is starting to flourish as more and more visitors experience what treasures it has to offer, and soon it will be one of the most favoured place to visit, I’ve always loved the Philippines after falling in love with it 3 years ago, I call it my second home and one day will venture across the ocean to live there in the Philippines.
